About  us

Picture
          Welcome to T-key locksmiths .
It all started when a passion for a hobby grew in to its own business ; me and my son started out picking locks as a hobby. We started cutting keys for friends and family and as time went on we started cutting keys for friends of friends and their families too. Helping to get every one back in to their houses when they locked their keys inside or lost them.
As we grew in popularity we started to cut keys on markets and car boots, this helped us with the cost of keeping up to date with the machinery needed to make car keys and transponders with professional training as well. Now we are able to offer a complete locksmith service to help everyone.
We soon realised that is what we like to do most ; to help you when you have lost the keys or got locked out of your house or car.

Q: I have locked my keys in the car!
A:  we pride ourselves on being able to gain access to any vehicle without causing damage to the lock or having the need to smash a window. We have a very good reputation for being one of the best at picking locks in the industry.

Q: Does my key need programming to the car?
A: In 1995 car manufacturers started installing transponders into the key’s plastic mould which is coded for each Car or Van. When creating a new key the new key’s transponder has to be coded into the vehicle to ensure that it can start it.

Q: I have lost one of my car keys, what should I do ?
A: In such a situation the concern will always be that if someone finds the key they can steal your car. We can help in this situation by first deleting the lost key from the car’s Computer so that it cannot be started. Secondly, we can either replace your locks so that the lost key cannot gain access into the car therefore rendering it useless top job

Q: I have a different key for my ignition and another for my car door?
A: We can modify your existing locks so that one key fits all. So don’t carry more keys than you need to less to lug around the better   .

Q: Renault Main dealers have told me it will take 7-14 days to get a new key-card. Is there a quicker way?
A: Yes there is a quicker way. We can code a new key card to the vehicle the same day. We carry the genuine key-cards in stock so can have a new key for you the same day. Renault main dealers have to apply for a new key-card from Renault in France – we keep them in stock ready to be programmed 24hrs a day

Q: My key does not go into the ignition barrel anymore. Can this be fixed?
A: Yes this can be fixed. This is a common fault on certain models of Peugeot and Vauxhall . We can either repair or, replace the ignition barrel without you having to pay dealer prices for items you don't need .

Q: I have broken my key and I have no spare. Can you still cut me a new key?
A: If you still have both pieces of the key then yes most likely we can cut you a key. Just bring the key to us or call and we can come to you to cut a new one.

Q: What do I need to order a new keys ?
A: To order a new key you will need the car make and model, the registration plate, VIN number

Q: What is the vehicle code or Immo Code?
A: The vehicle code, or sometimes known as Immo code, is a code which is needed to access the car’s computer system to code in new keys. This will be in your car’s handbook or on a card that come with the car when it was new. If you do not have these, we can get these from a database for a small fee at the time of programming a new key.
